What amazes me is the lack of credit given to the small inventor who risks everything by making a contribution to a standards committee dominated by huge manufacturers. Do these people not realize that the standards members can tweak and wire around the patented technology of a small fry without recourse. This is practicing your invention folks. It is also urging the use of your invention not only in the USA, but around the world. Do they expect to receive royalty? Absolutely, this is the enticement to lure the small fries into the web. It is clear in the agreement to participate. The act of later raising the expectation of compensation as a no no in enforcement actions is a farce and anyone agreeing with this nonsense is a co-conspirator to an overall scheme to smoke out and steal the technology of the small inventor. If the bigs refuse to license contrary to their warranty in becoming a member of the standards body, the smalls should be able to sell their patented contributions to anyone willing to pay compensation and they should be allowed to transfer their rights conferred upon them by said standards body. After all, any invention proffered by the smalls that could not be tweaked and stolen by the standards body is by definition a game changer.

Sorry for my rant, but I do feel better now.
