NCT spun off NRZ as of 5/15. Each company retained certain assets to enable NCT to unlock the value of those assets. NCT retained certain CDOs, commercial mortgages, and, most importantly for them the senior living investments, which they intend to grow significantly. NRZ also retained certain mortgage investments, but, most importantly, they now own all the MSR business which will see significant growth going forward. They just announced tonight a total 2nd quarter dividend between NCT/NRZ of .24 which is about 10% above the .22 NCT 1st Q dividend. Projections are for a combined .26 quarterly dividend for 3rd and 4th Q. NCT's dividend previous year was .88 so you see there's significant upside to both the dividend and stock price. Check the NCT website for spin off presentation for much more detail. Also a great article in the 6/10 issue of Forbes Magazine, pp. 56/57 on NSM (NCT's partner in many of the MSR deals), FIG (parent company) and a nice mention of NCT too. Hope this helps.
P.S. It is a screaming buy, IMHO.
