I am pretty sure the cut down device is geo-fenced by a GPS receiver. When it goes outside a box drawn on a map, it cuts down. It might be altitude triggered as well and have a radio receiver. The FAA has requirements in FAR Part 101 I haven't checked for a while. That is why I think they are so confident it would be down by early Monday. After Sami caused me to check wind direction, though, I am a little worried they are looking to the west when they should be looking to the north. And if it comes down in a body of water, it is probably lost forever. Trackers for Stateside use is probably a good idea. This is good for WSGI Ihub town IMO, though, because we are learning a lot about aerostat use and procurement. JMHO IJO
