Well, the way it's suppose to work is that the share price starts out the next day by reducing the dividend. How much it goes up and down depends on market sentiment. So if the price is reduced by less than the dividend then the market has increased the value of the stock. BTW, you have hold this long only because of the special 25% dividend rule. It has to do with compensating for margin or something like that.
