Yeah, about a decade after the appearance of the first
32 bit x86 chip. Was that the point you were trying to
make?
that it's the os which makes the chip and and the one which will be partially x64 only will come out next year. when you can buy a 64 bit vista pro os on your 64 bit desktop pc, you don't think isvs will jump all over themselves to recompile their apps to 64 bit ? and the conversion is much easier than 16-bit segmented code to flat 32 bit code.
