What are the most promising canadian bio's you follow? In the canadian bios' I own more cardiome and a little vasogen..
Some promising Cdn bio's:
Labopharm,DDS, I like DDS, they have had a run up in anticipation of European commercialization. In the near term, they should continue to announce product launches in up to 22 European countries. The North American side looks a little bit more risky for Labopharm. They should be announcing a FDA filing shortly. As well they are conducting another Phase III trial for once daily tramadol. Also as well Biovail will have first mover advantage for once daily tramadol in North America. Biovail should be announcing commercialization for their version of once daily tramadol in the near term.
Aterna Zentaris,AEZ, should be mildly profitable over the next few years. Strong underlying value, they own 50 % of Atrium a mildly profitable neutraceutial company currently worth 150 million or so. Add in their cash and you have the valuation of the company. AEZ should be announcing some pivotal Centrorelix trials to start in 06. Also have a decent pipeline.
YM Biosciences, Ive been following YM for a few years now. Hopefully we will get some good Tesmilifene news in 06.
Enough said about YM already on this board.
Isotechnika, ISA, should be starting Phase IIb renal trials very shortly, as well should be beginning Phase III U.S and European psoriasis trials in 06. Likely should be getting results in 07.
Cryocath, similar to Cardiome in that they are in the A-fib market except they use a medical device rather than drugs. CYT should be announcing results from an initial U.S. trial very shortly and should be beginning the pivotal portion in early 06. As well they have approval in Europe but the jury is still out. A major event for CYT should be in mid 06 when they announce some results to hopefully gain acceptance in the European community. Also CYT is announcing their year-end results on Monday so we'll see what they have to say.
Axcan,AXP, some underlyng value in that already have commercialized products and are profitable, should be announcing some pivotal ITAX results in the 1st half 06 which could move the stock. Supposedly starting in 07, they state they could possibly have a new launch starting with ITAX and with a separate drug for the next 5 years. We'll see.
I also own some others but those are my current favorites, as always, do you own DD.
The only certainty in biotech investing is that there is no certainty.
On an off note, I like to invest most of my RRSP's in supposedly stable stocks. To give a plug to a newsletter, the best there is is "The Investment Reporter". Basically the jist of the newsletter is only invest in dividends so you should get the idea.
