I am torn about broadening back ground checks. It's true that many criminals will not be affected by background checks. It's true that criminals can buy their guns on the street---and usually pay a premium for them.
What could be easier than for a crook to go into a gun show and buy his next piece from an individual, at the market price?
My biggesat preoblem with the broad background checks, that the anti Second Amendment crowd wants, is that they will lead to a national gun registry.
Is there a fool out there that thinks the Government will not build a national gun registry? The safe guards of enhanced background checks pales when measured against the potential for door to door confiscations---using a national gun registry for an address list.
