In any event, Bavi is now a bit behind the times as armed MAbs such as T-DM1 form IMGN are the way to go
I am in no way a PPHM bull, and think that any PPHM discussion on this board is so played out at this point it's just ridiculous, but just want to temper this comment a bit. I don't think, hypothetically, that bavi's "proposed MOA/approach"* is behind the times. What the PPHM bulls seem to think is that bavi is an immunotherapeutic agent, in some sense similar to the PD-1/PD-L1 agents that are showing such promise these days. IMO this type of immunotherapy will be critical and even necessary for future oncology treatment, as it appears to be the best (and in some cases only) way to achieve durable, long-term responses. I think ADCs are a similarly exciting new modality for treatment, but I wouldn't be so quick to (indirectly) suggest that oncology immunotherapies may be behind the times.
*the major caveat on this is that I don't think bavi actually qualifies as a legitimate oncology immunotherapy, as there still isn't any good data or PoC to validate it even having activity. So I know I am kind of putting words in your mouth by lumping in the bavi snake oil with the very legitimate and validated approaches of checkpoint inhibition. Only point I wanted to make is that the success of armed mAbs like T-DM1 don't mean that there isn't a future for immunotherapeutic approaches
