Validation

The settlement with Ericsson gives validation to the IDCC 2G patents, which probaly has some carryover into the 3G patents. Here is what all seem to be forgetting, and that is with this validation all who haven't licensed will now have to license, as in my opinion they can't win a legal fight or Ericsson would not have paid.

Let us not forget that even the once mighty Motorola will still be liable for their overseas sales as well. I don't know how IDCC will pursue Motorola, but I feel confident a Motorola license will be attained.

Now the thing that kind of makes me believe IDCC is going to be sold is the fact they didn't get a 3G license with Ericsson, and has not sought a lot of 3G license, even though IDCC is one of if not the largest owner of 3G essential patents. This not getting 3G license means the aquirer would prefer to handle that license arrangement rather than IDCC.

Remember the CDMA2000 growth being mentioned in the conference call. I say be on the lookout for either a QCOM license or a buyout offer from QCOM, as QCOM would love to have what IDCC has, and thats a fact.
