something is cockeye here.
when searching for drivers, the system FINDS the sub3.0 external hard drive, but NOT the usb drive.
so will copy the inf files to the external hard drive and see if I can make the load drivers work from where it is now.

I was rather neanderthal, and just pulled the two devices (usb3.0 flash drive and the usb3.0 external drive) out of their usb ports and will use this computer to copy the inf files to appropriate folder...

still working and very fuzzy how this is supposed to really work/function!
