Not a word about Nova being privately owned.
Nothing that says this Pr had changed.

BioShield Enters FDA/Medical Applications Market
New Wholly Owned Subsidiary, Nova Biogenetics, Inc., Was Formed To License BioShield's Patented Antimicrobial Compounds For Use In The FDA/Medical Applications
ATLANTA, Jan. 25, 2002, BioShield Technologies, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: BSTI http://www.bioshield.com ) announced today the formation of Nova Biogenetics, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary that will focus on licensing Bioshield's patented antimicrobial compounds into their FDA/Medical applications and will provide key clients with personalized technical support. Nova Biogenetics intends to take full advantage of the resources of licensing partners in its quest to increase BioShield's pipeline in the FDA arena, and management has stated the new subsidiary will seek separate outside funding to cover overhead. BioShield management believes the new firm can be fully funded without diluting shareholder equity in BioShield or drawing on BioShield revenues. In addition, it is the intention of BioShield's management to spin- off the wholly owned subsidiary as a FDA/Medical applications and technical support firm at a later date.
By using the resources of established firms with labs, production facilities and marketing programs already in place, coupled with outside funding, BioShield hopes to make rapid advancements within the FDA/Medical applications market. Some of the products where antimicrobial compounds can be widely found in are: dishwashing detergents, laundry bars, rinse conditioners, skin lotions and creams, cosmetics, tooth brushes, hair shampoos, shower products, deodorants, tooth paste, mouth wash and a wide range of products used in the dental and medical professions. The Company believes the unique properties of BioShield's antimicrobial technology lends itself well for use in all of these applications. One product that probably best describes the advantage of the Company's technology is deodorant. BioShield's antimicrobial is the only technology the Company knows of that bacteria cannot become resistant to over time.
Initial primary focuses within the FDA/Medical applications market include:
Food Crops
BioShield has been in the preliminary phase of testing for approval for food crops regulated by the FDA. Testing on cantaloupes resulted in an increase in crop production of up to 40% due to the elimination of bacterial infestations on the crop itself. Other food sources have been tested in the Company's laboratories, and the Company is aggressively seeking licensees to further develop this market.
