I would think that the emeralds were cleaned with the paint thinner and what ever other cleaners they used. This whole thing seems like they are saying they CLEANED the emeralds with thinner. And you are saying they enhanced them with thinner?
So if Jay and Steve say they didn't enhance the emeralds they would be right, they only cleaned them.
If you are calling cleaning the emeralds enhancing the emeralds you are then right.
It really sounds like a play of words to me. I say not knowing any better Steve cleaned the dang things and left thinner on them! Big deal, onto the next problem.
