Jan 17, 2012 .. 'Company has completed initial demonstrations of its Argus One UAV to the U.S. Department of Defense'

Feb 29, 2012 .. 'announced today that it has filed a United States patent application for an airship design and a method of controlling the airship based on its Argus One UAV.'

May 9, 2012 .. 'Company has filed a provisional patent application on an Argus Hybrid aerostat/airship design'

So, the official filing date on this “Published’ Patent form for the Argus is Jan 17 / 2012 .. the same date we’re told they’ve completed initial demonstrations .. because they now have a working model / prototype

I believe the Hybrid aerostat/airship design patent application is a result of this ‘starter motor 708’ .. that assists in starting the main ‘motor 704’

“[0037] .. one embodiment the propulsion module 408 also includes a starter motor 708 coupled to the motor 704 that assists in starting the motor 704”

So maybe the Argus can shut off the motor after it reaches a set location .. drift back in the wind .. start back up & fly forward again.

So, if that’s the case .. that means that the Hybrid design is already proven too .. well, they need to prove they can release from the tether system .. but I love this Hybrid version & imagine it sittin’ pretty along border patrol and the desire its capability would entice .. imo

Ooh, it really makes me wonder.”
