Gy, "Bite my tongue"? You'll just have to make allowances for an amoral Gen Xer. LOL
Here's a monthly chart of the TSX, (at the bottom of post)that shows the bull market. It got up to 11,000 just like it did in 2000. The prime mover/lifter for the TSX for over a year has been energy stocks. I sold my oils in Sept and the natural gas stocks & NT(@$3.91) on Oct 3. Right now energy stocks & the TSX have been taking a nice $#!+ kicking.
"Would you believe I still have a share certificate from PanAm?? What does that tell you??."
Um, did you guess PanAm was going bankrupt before it occured? If you short sell stock in a company you guess is heading for eventual bankruptcy and it does declare bankruptcy, you never have to cover your short trade and buy back the stock. If you never buy back the stock then you never pay any capital gains taxes on the profit made. I'm thinking Ford would be a good bankruptcy candidate.
I don't think your problem is senility, Gy. Your problem is that you've never figured out that there are only 2 viable strategies in the stock market: value investing, TA or both combined. PerfectSage.
My favourite stocks are breaking out of multi year flat basing areas. Remember SMTS, ABP & NGAS? I think RIMM is a good bearish candidate for a breakdown out of a flat base.
VST (VST-Vector): VST is the master indicator for ranking every stock in the VectorVest database. WEE has a VST rating of 1.28, which is very good on a scale of 0.00 to 2.00. VST is computed from the square root of a weighted sum of the squares of RV, RS, and RT. Stocks with the highest VST ratings have the best combinations of Value, Safety and Timing. These are the stocks to own for above average, long-term capital appreciation. VectorVest advocates the purchase of safe, undervalued stocks rising in price.
Recommendation (REC): VectorVest gives a Buy, Sell, Hold recommendation on every stock, every day. WEE has a Buy recommendation. REC reflects the cumulative effect of all the VectorVest parameters working together. These parameters are designed to help investors buy safe, undervalued stocks rising in price. They also help investors avoid or sell risky, overvalued stocks falling in price. VectorVest recommends that investors buy high VST-Vector, Buy-rated stocks in rising markets.
