Just trying to inject a little sanity here. Why on earth would GOOG try to settle now before they've even had the chance to present their case to the jury and see how the jury reacts. Do you think they are THAT scared? I can't see any settlement offered by GOOG prior to close of their presentation and as Red and USMC state, why would VRNG accept if they really feel strongly about how things have gone? Seems like the only reason VRNG would settle now is cuz they were losing? (and why would GOOG then settle?) or if GOOG offered close to what VRNG wanted (and why would GOOG then not go for the Hail Mary and let the jury decide).
If someone can come up with a reasonable scenario as to why there would be a settlement at this stage in the game, let me know. I can't think of a very good reason for EITHER side to settle.....
