Saying "so much for opt-in" is erroneous and damaging (a la the Pentium III serial number fiasco). Equating ubiquity-of-TPMs with abandonment-of-"opt-in" is, at best, careless. Even after TPMs are ubiquitous, the TCG paradigm remains "opt-in." Users may choose not to enable the TPM. That's very important. (I think wavxmaster already pointed this out.)
