I don't think that anything I proposed has to do with appeasement. If Iraq steps out of the boundaries imposed and start threatening its neighbors, pounce on them like a ton of "Bovine excrements", but since 1991 they have not done this, and a severe inspection regime (including the immediate UN forces intervention if they attempt to expel the inspectors as they have few years back) should do fine. It was the unilateral expulsion of the UN peace keeping forces by Nasser that brought on the 1967 renewal of hostilities in the Arab Israel conflicts. I am sure that the UN would be happy (under the current threat of US unilateral intervention) to preauthorize UN forces involvement if the inspection regime is unilaterally terminated by Iraq.

In the meanwhile I got in EXPE here at $66.40 for a minor lunch tactics. (oops wrong thread...)
