NGEN sold 6.8 million of its common shares to institutional investors at $2.94 each, plus 1 million warrants exercisable at $4 each for five years. Nanogen will receive $18.9 million from the sale, after deducting fees and expenses. The sale is expected to close on or about today, and the company plans to use the proceeds for capital, acquisitions and other general corporate purposes
