Re: It is noteworthy that vendors of "Intel's Platform" get the crumbs. Intel's Platforms are efforts to reduce choice for the consumer and vendor.

Or maybe it's because Intel's platforms offer their vendors the choice of getting components that are validated together, assembled with the same quality, and aligned to the same schedule. But rather than recognizing that Intel's platforms may offer greater value and features, you believe Intel has had to strongarm their partners into accepting nothing else. It's a classic case of inventing a fiction that is much more appealing to you than the truth.

Re: you were incorrect in your assertions regarding ever increasing P4 clock speed. You were played by Intel and you liked it. Thats loyalty.

Intel was able to get past the power barriers that you guys were claiming would keep Northwood stuck at 2.4GHz. I thought they could do the same for Prescott, but they couldn't. That's alright, because just about everyone else in the industry thought that they would as well, which is why it came as big news when they decommitted from 4.0GHz.

As for loyalty, I'll admit to having a bias, but your description is a gross exaggeration, not to mention hypocritical. You have a devotion to AMD that makes mine pale by comparison. Not that there's anything wrong with being biased, as long as you don't pretend that you are not.
