I havent been doing this too long myself .What ive picked about weeklylys and time premium decay is by picking a few stocks that jump around alot ie AAPL GOOG PCLN ect and maybe some lower priced ones also LNKD FFIV . then watch them as they get closer to friday expiration . You really will start to get the feel how the premium erodes especially from wed afternoon till friday. I used to hold them when I had a nice profit with some time premium baked in and then watch them go to SH#@t the next few days. On the flip side sometimes I sell to early because im afraid of missing out on big profits. Take LNKD . I wasnt in unfortunately but if I had gotten in yesterday at .25 and it got to 3.00 to 4.00 theres no way in hell i would have held overnight , screw it if goes more tomorrow its not worth it. IMO
That time premium decay can relly play on your decision process. Just remember take your profits when they are reasonable and that PIGS usually get Slaughtered. Hope that helps
