If the "sex hormone" acts subsequent to fertilization (conception), then if one believes that life begins at inception, the use of anything to abort the resulting zygote would be the taking of a life. I just wish we (or at least I) were more sure about when life begins. I spent some time on the subject this weekend but the answer remains unclear to me - I do have doubts about the "life begins at birth" view of ensoulment, though.
