"However, Romney has proven to be a Liberal in past approaches governing, and he has proven himself Anti-Gun; I can only hope he has seen the light"
When Romney took most of his Liberal stands, he was a Republican Governor in a State with a ~90% Democrat Legislature. It can be called Going Along to Get Along, or doing what it takes to get ANYTHING done. It's one thing to be a lone Conservative voice when you are a part of the pack. When you are the lead dog, you've got to have some support to move the sled forward.
Whenhe's President, he will very likely be dealing with a Republican House and Senate. A House and Senate that are growing more Conservative. Going Along to Get Along with a Conservative dominated Congress will take on a whole new meaning.
Here's one worry I have about Mitt. As much as I respect Ann Romney, I think there could be a problem with her. She's lived most of her adult life, in Boston, SURROUNDED by Liberals. As the Governor's wife she was buried by Liberals at social functions. My guess is that , even today, she has many close friends that are Liberals.
Peer pressure and pillow talk are not just talk.
