ALS-2220 is a purine nuke so safety is an ongoing concern. Positive efficacy data from the pyrimidine ALS-2158 would be exciting for VRTX.

Thanks oc, I missed this point. This further strengthens my belief that VRTX will ultimately need a 2nd gen PI or NS5A inhibitor to compete effectively in the HCV space down the road.
