When MicroSoft bought Skype they bought a mature software and infrastructure with an installed base of active users greater than 600,000,000. This clearly does not describe ECDC. One can argue about what may, or should, or could happen, but there is no argument as to what has happened. Comparisons like the below quoted are at best premature and in reality are a priori false analogies.
