Very impressive advances in silicon technology. Intel has a lot more processing tricks than just finer lithography. My feel is that the other silicon wafer fabbers will have a much harder time mastering the new tricks. To the financial community all 22 or 32nm technologies are the same commodity. Unfortunately the rest of the world is still struggling with HiK. The other manufacturers will continue to struggle with FinFETS. Intel also has an advantage with Self aligned contacts giving better transistor density.
So Intel will have a sustainable process technology advantage over everyone else. Need to translate that advantage into must have products in new markets.All that remains are kick ass products in the mobile space. Wonder what previews of new products will be shown at the next IDF ?
