mlsoft, If you institutionalize intolerance, either thru "religion" or thru another means, you shouldn't anticipate intolerance in return?..

If you are intolerant or "condemn", as subject to "damnation", all beliefs that are inconsistent with your own, you don't anticipate an equally intolerant response?...

It's been my experience that the Christian "Left" (if there is such a thing), and Jews, in general, are more tolerant of diverse views and differing opinions, and I much prefer tolerance over some rigid "all or nuthin" brand of "eternal" intolerance. I also prefer real moral character over any academic ideology, and prefer people who value moral character.

But I know, I know... You're right! They're wrong! Because the Word is "literal" and "perfect", and everyone who disagrees or questions - be "damned", and blah, blah, blah.... You are certainly free to believe that everyone else is wrong and you are "right", but don't expect others to agree...But add to the mindset - a politically opportunistic element within the group, and I become concerned.... So the argument continues....

But this is America, and you are free to disagree... Perhaps we should agree to disagree, or you might simply put me on ignore. I won't be offended. FWIW, I have respected your opinion, and the way you presented your opinion.

As for the suggestion that "liberals" are responsible for all that ails US society, I think that's political bunk!! Individuals are responsible. We are all responsible for the quality of our choices and for the values we give to our families. Morality and personal responsiblity begin at home, not in the public sector or political parties - "Right" or "Left"...
