Frankly, I have heard all of your anti "Christian Right" hysteria that I can stand without responding.
I do not understand the difference between the "Christian Right" working through politics to achieve goals that they think important, as opposed to blacks doing the same, or indians, or liberals, or conservatives, or conservationists, or pacifists, or whatever. The last time I checked, the United States is a representative democracy (a republic) that makes its public policy through freely elected representatives within the framework of the Constitution. I do not see any portion of that Constitution that says any group except conservative Christians can espouse their views and attempt to get them enacted into law.
The "Christian Right" are ordinary people just like you - except they are professing Christians who are also conservatives. There are also plenty of professing Christians that are very liberal, but I never see you rant and rave about them or pull slanted and misleading articles off of the internet to lambast them. Why not??? Simply because in most things they agree with your way of thinking while conservatives do not. You, my friend, need to get a grip on what freedom in this country is all about.
Most conservatives, Christian or not, believe that liberal government is destroying the moral values of our country and want to slow that process down or even stop it if possible - and that is also the main agenda of what you call the "Christian Right". You like to use scary (to you) labels such "the Christian Right" as if it were some anarchist movement out to overthrow the government. Why are conservative Christians so scary to you other than the fact that they do not support your particular beliefs? If you disagree with their views so much, why not do what the Constitution intended and work to get out the vote against them. It is un-american in its most fundamental sense for you to want to deny the conservative Christian populace of this nation a voice in the government, and I personally resent it.
Take some of your liberal anti-Christian garbage and read it again, but this time in every place it reads "Christian" substitute "Jew" or "Catholic" in its place and see if it still sounds so good to you. I think not.
