I don't thing there is going to be much of a difference in the market if the US goes it alone, with the UK and Australia and with or without the blessing of the UN. I fear, however, that long term, going without the blessing of the UN will render the UN irrelevant and it will end up like the league of nations. If the UN withdraw its support, I doubt that the US will pay its due, other nations will follow and the UN will collapse. That will make the world a much more dangerous place. All that despite the fact that I think the UN is quite biased and "anti Capital" in general, it is still better than a place where everyone does what it see as most important for its nation's interests without the invisible restrains the UN is partially putting on these activities (though for more than 20 years now, the UN ha been unable to stop strife all over the African continent).
