A sign supporting Dew's "Global Demographic Tailwind"
China, Brazil, Mexico, India and Russia announced contributions to the IMF to bolster a “second line of defense,” fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde said in an e-mailed statement. China will contribute $43 billion, the official Xinhua News Agency reported. The others’ share was $10 billion each
The United States and Europe contributed nothing this time around. A sign of the times?
IMO, this is a sign of the (necessary) global re-structuring that Stephen Roach of Morgan-Stanley/Dean-Witter was calling for as early as 1994. It will be a tough, long haul.
