Safety of suvorexant looks good to me, as far as what has been disclosed publicly.

Note that it is standard in these sleep studies that "sleepiness" is reported as a standard 'side effect' as in all clinical studies. The reason it may not have been higher might be that people here are not in a sleep lab or environment and are aroused or alerted 'to see if the drug/placebo works.'

Cataplexy was an issue in the relevant KO animal models, so prior cataplexy was an exclusion criteria. Not seen in these studies though with normals or insomniacs from what I have seen.

The lack of next day residual effects based on the standard DSST will be usefull for marketing purposes. For the 3 month next day sleepiness result, I need to have more color on this to decide whether this is an issue. Like what would be the prescribed dose, et al.
