while it is striking that hes is trading not far from where it was when oil was 40, that doesnt really tell the story imo. hes is being punished for failing to meet production targets and escalating budgets. there seems to be particular disappointment with their performance in the baaken. i think this is an overreaction. investors just need to accept that such a massive acreage position, along with a committment to infrastructure, is going to result in more inefficiencies and higher costs compared to others in the unconventional plays early on
