OT Tangent: Nice analogy and leads me to a thought tangent on your post fwiw...."And Corning collapsed after the FO meltown in 2000" (I think that what you meant also in addition to reinventing themselves after all that corningware plate stuff that was an outgrowth of some of the early Space Shuttle technology and R&D (a facinating story in itself), etc) and yes they reinvented themselves yet again as you stated in your post.

Now they are I believe the largest supplier of TV and display screens capitalizing on the white hot Large Screen and LCD, Plasma, widescreen and you name it screen tv and display craze.... amazing you mention this Corning in your post as it comnnected a few dots I had in my head fwiw....I was on a Business travel route this past year that had me drive by a few times this beautioful route I never knew existed in some beautiful Mountain topagraphy and the route had me drive along rt 15 in PA towards Corning, NY and I would go by these these huge brand new buildings being constructed southeast of Corning NY on rt 15 just inside the middle top section of PA (In Tiago PA area I think http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?searchtype=address&country=US&addtohistory=&locatio... , btw, worth a side trip if anyone is ever by Corning Area fwiw and jmho to go to Tiago PA area if one gets the chance, beautiful gorges and Caverns a few miles west/east of Tiago Area and called the "grand canyon of PA" if you didnt know that)...anyway all these huge buildings going up and finally on a recent drive by I saw the sign go up in fromnt, CORNING...lol, and then I see a few weeks later a CNBC spheel/blurb on them talking about Corning and how they reinvented themselves/survived, etc and they went on to discus I think their expansion of Manufacturing facilities in PA/NY area after shutting down many in NC during the FO and tech meltdown, etc of 2000 era...now some of this new capacity in the new buildings is for the glass screens for all the new displays consumers are craving for...

Anyway, reinvention, and yes, I see NEOM doing just that, we sit patiently while they let those Bamboo sprouts take root from all their hard sowing and planting work they did in the past.....Here's hoping they capitalize on the mobile phenom and new consumer cravings towards everything mobile and "on the go net" in the coming 12-18 months...
