I think the question is how many of us duffers actually run out and buy the next best thing on the market whether it be a driver, iron or putter.

The key is run out mind you. The pros certainly have a lot more club selection at hand with sponsors etc so you could actually see them using a different club in their bag from one week to the next.

I've been playing with the same irons, Ping Eye 2s for years and the same goes for my Ping putter and titleist vokey wedge.

About the only club I have changed out in the last 5-7 years is my driver. But even then I'm really cautious about buying some over sized shoebox on the end of a stick. It still needs to look right to me when I'm staring down at it. And besides I'd have to throw all my old tees away and start buying 2-3 inch tees.

I suspect I'm giving up yardage off the tee but I play the clubs I have grown confortable with. If I have a bad day in my opinion it wasn't the clubs that sucked it was me.
