This "Class Action" against intel rides on the claims in Amd's Civil lawsuit. What's so much better about this Class Suit is the inclusion of a much more imediate RESTAINING ORDER against intel.
Moreover, this class action sites not just Federal Law but 20 SPECIFIC STATE LAWS which intel is violating - including California and NEW YORK Law as well as DC law! Calif and NY are pretty nasty about this kind of shit.
What's got my attention even more is this:
If (when) intel loses this bitch, Amd will not financially benefit but intel can get its ass KEREAMED!!
This class action dates back to early 2001 to present. That involves virtually all of intel chips sold (at elevated monopoly prices) for 4 fuking years! That's about 500 million intel chips which intel overcharged for.
Even if the courts decide that intel charged and received just $10 more per chip (which must be refunded to the class), intel can take a $5B hit for this class action. But I said "$10". It could be $20 per chip (not much more because many intel chips only sell for $75-100). My point is crystal clear.
iNTEL could easily be hit with a $5B to $10B fine for this class action !! What's more, this class action will not be terribly fast, but it will probably be faster than Amd's civil action case. The most important component of the civil action is the RESTAINING ORDER request! If THAT happens, Amd's flood gates will open. Amd will surely start making money. Amd stock will surely rise. Today's Amd 300 P/E ratio is a "good" LT bet. It's MUCH BETTER than Amd's civil action - which could take 5 years.
If the class action is resolved much quicker, and especially if the RESTAINING ORDER is issued much soon, Amd's civil case will be greatly strengthend and, of course, Amd itself will have a much higher chance of winning a heafty cash settlement.
All together, the BIG CLASS ACTION HIT plus the smaller AMD HIT to intel, could very well leaved intel flat broke AND in an inferior technological position.
This is a VERY POWERFUL package deal going against intel in California. I have much more faith now that Amd actually HAS A CHANCE. The civil action alone was not that powerful because intel could have broken Amd by the time that case ends. The Class Action will likely bust intel's chops and set Amd in the cat bird's seat!
I'm impressed. The lawyers in this class action stand to make a wad! Amd's legal expenses in the civil case are now much more secure.
Thank you Sax (Amd's low paid mouth).
