Printing question.......

I have a small Canon ip90v printer that uses refillable cartridges. I don't use the printer very often so ocassionally the print heads dry up and I soak them in hot water to clean them.

Is there something I can put in the ink to keep it from drying up? Maybe a drop of oil or something?
