I intterpret this to be a sufi interpretation, with my limited knowledge, and not an honest one, because others taliking at the american muslim conference this spring/summer talk quite openly in support of jihad as war and sheik palaszzi openly admits the "other " interpretation. ALL of my dictionaries, which are too old to be politically correct support the phrase jihad as holy war.

The real question to me is not how many, but is why are there any? how any person can use religion to support terrorism and destruction of people they do not know is difficult to understand. I suspect that they think the West is warring against them, with its movies and culture etc. But why they simply do not close off these influences rather than destroy them is the question of note.

So try to find out what violent sects of islam exist and who beleives in them
