could it be related to a potential corporate deal or commericial deal? maybe, but doubtful.

Why is it that you see a commercial deal "Doubtful"
But you see multiple negative things that "could be"

What DD do you have to make you believe this?
Something must make you say success is not the reason and failure is.

why would a gag order be put in place on this amazing discovery if someone was willing to enter into a potential deal?

I can see dozens of reasons the first of which would be not being sued.

Since my speculation is no better or worse then yours I would use this as an example...

So lets just say you are the CEO of 3m. You are fully aware that 25% of DuPont's income is from Kevlar. You here about KBLB and ask them to make you silk with some sort of enhancement.

Kim charges you for the ZFNs from SIAL and produces your silk. You need to have the silk tested in your own lab before you sign on the dotted line.

So as CEO are you going to be OK with Kim putting out a PR saying they have a deal with 3m for a Kevlar replacement just because it would be timed good with a peer review?
Are you going to be OK to let your competition know you are invading just so some message board posters wont cry?
Or do you think it might be a bad idea to let DuPont know you are about to take billions from them?

I will be happy to say I have no clue what is going on behind the scenes. I will not say it is good or bad. I can only say that given the information we have there is no indication of any form of bad news. There is plenty of reason for good news.
