There will be a lot more unrest in the future. I've read several articles that focus on the inability of states to continue to incarcerate people at current rates. It's about $50k per person per year. I would not be surprised to find that states like California are already trimming their inmate population.

As for education, the K-12 system is so broken that it's difficult for any child to go through that and come out with the sort of creative mind required to get ahead. Our immediate and extended family has several educators and all have retired or are planning to retire in the next couple of years. They are completely frustrated with the structural issues.
