I wonder why it took 16 years to approve the patent. Seems like a loophole needs to be closed.

The timing of new patent dovetails nicely with the expiration of the pre-existing US patent on Enbrel (#msg-60342122), but I don’t know what “loophole” AMGN could have exploited to delay its issuance. If anyone knows, please post.
