EPA clears MON’s Double Pro Refuge-in-a-Bag (RIB):

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Monsanto-Receives-U-S-prnews-3143119980.html?x=0&l=1

As is the case with SmartStax RIB (MON’s top-of-the-line corn product—#msg-61943132), Double Pro RIB has a 5% implicit refuge. , making it more attractive to growers than the 20% refuge available from MON’s main competitor, DD.

MON’s main competitor, DuPont, does not yet have a RIB product to compete with MON’s SmartStax and Double Pro. That’s because DD’s RIB product, called AcreMax 1, lacks protection for above-ground insects (#msg-49509446).

Double Pro RIB is intended for the Western US corn belt (KS, NE, CO, WY) where above-ground insects are a problem but the corn rootworm is not.
