I agree with SRV about Malwarebytes. Try downloading it, if it won't install without giving you an error, try installing it in safe mode with networking. If you can't get it on the machine that way, go to a different computer and download it to a thumb drive and run it from there.

So far, I have never not had success with Malwarebytes. I have reco'd it to dozens of people and have never heard a single complaint.
