That really doesn't answer my question....but ok. Let's go back to the beginning. At the start of Obama'a presidency, he had the votes to get almost anything he wanted passed. With arguably more important things to deal with, namely the economy, jobs, bank problems, he chose to tackle Health Care and we all know the result.....some good things to be sure came out of that, but the main problem......the rising cost of HC was not addressed. The same could be said of the Financial Bill.....the main problems....too big to fail and fraud...were not addressed adequately.
But let's go back to HC. Knowing how controversial any change was, I ask myself.....why choose HC right off the bat over the advice of Emmanuel who was there when Clinton tried it? http://www.tnr.com/blog/jonathan-chait/hindsight-advice-obama We all know the result. We didn't get everything that was needed...or promised.....and most importantly, the opportunity to accomplish.....again arguably.....more important things was squandered. Call me cynical (I know you do)...but I don't believe in accidents or miscalculations of this magnitude. What is, is what was intended.
