Supposedly, Sandra Day O'Connor was going to delay retirement until after Bush's term because she did not want her vacancy exploited by right-wing ideologue. Nor did she want her retirement to lead to more divisiveness. Smart woman. Unfortunately, O'Connors husband has dimentia, and she is no longer able to delay her resignation.

The far right has been gearing up for this for years. They would love to overturn R v. W. I've actually heard that, from conception, they believe the embryo's live is of the same status of the mother's. If they succeed at needling away at R v. W, we are inching toward Talibanism.
