Porman,
Nothing you do down here comes easy. We had a guy who was to show up 7;30am Mon. he didn’t as we waited till 9. We knew approximately where his wreck was and went looking anyway. Then one of his buddies seen us searching. Then he got all mad that we went looking w/out him. Ahhh. I guess him holding the ship and crew up was ok but when I go in search of it he gets mad. I really could write for hours on how these folks work down here. And I can tell you it is nothing like the USA.
Our mag is broken and I am trying to get that sent back and fixed. Another fun chore down here is shipping anything to and from the states. Plus it takes $.
I have several mag hits already in his shipwreck area. So when we do get the right weather we will go in search of. Two more fishermen showed up yesterday with more info about two other wrecks. We will see how that goes? Right now we are experiencing some bad seas. I don’t think we will get the chance to get out again till early next week. But I have said that before and the next day the weather cleared. So you never know?
We dug a hole close to where we thought this guys wreck was. At 60ft there was no surge. The holes we opened stayed open. Not like our other sites where they cave in as fast as you open them. But yes if we do find a wreck in 60ft we will have to be much more careful on our dive times. When we were digging in KW(55ft) we would get close to a hour bottom time followed by and hour on the surface and three dives a day. The fourth dive always put you into a decompression range.
All of our wrecks are smashed up against the rocks. It would be nice to find something untouched by the surge and by the fishermen. That’s why I was pushing so hard to find this new one. Fortunately these wrecks are known by more than one fisherman and one day we will for sure end up with this new wreck. That’s my personal opinion about that.
C.B.
