Regarding the Ameritrade issue, I had a similar problem some time back on another stock. At that time I was told that the problem was the funds I was trying to use were from a flip I had completed the day before. Since the buy and sell on that stock were both on the same day, the funds showed on my account, but could not be used until the 3-day restriction had passed. My trying to use the funds early was considered a marginable event, which was not allowed since I was trying to buy a non-marginable stock. I probably have used the wrong terms, but I think you get the idea. I don't know if this is what happened with your accounts, just saying. It might explain why some posters haven't had any problems today.
