I thought there already was an approved Lovenox - or was this triggered on the commercial launch rather then approval?

The new launch is an “authorized generic” from Sanofi, the maker of branded Lovenox. The AG is the exact same product as branded Lovenox except for the packaging and (presumably) a slightly lower price.
