Since when does the word Republican = social conservative. Can you name one social conservative that voted for Civil Rights? I'll save you the time -zero. Not one. Now there were several Rockefeller Republicans who were socially liberal and fiscally conservative but that's not who we are talking about now are we.

I'm still waiting for that one great program? Now if you want to take credit for No Child Left Behind that was originally written by Ted Kennedy and had the guts and funding ripped out of it by Bush that's OK - so how is that program doing now? Does it measure up to any of the programs I mentioned? Did social conservatives have to fight for this and the liberals oppose it? The answers are No and No. SO you have to try again. Why is this question so difficult? There must be something social conservatives, like you, are proud of and want to take credit?
