I don't follow Abbott that closely so it was a big surprise to me but maybe its been hinted at before?

The sell-side analysts from certain firms have lobbied ad nauseam for a split-up to “unlock shareholder value.”

The notion that there’s a Chinese wall between the analysts and the investment bankers at the same firm is ludicrous.
