Re: What is this tape-in thing. The word tape-out has been an anachronism for decades now so I can't believe they would develop a new word based on it that has any real meaning. Tapeout is currently the process of transfering the mask data via network from the design folks to the people that build the plates used in the factory.
I'm not sure, but I assumed it was one of the stages in the initial process kick-off before the official "Tape-out". Either that, or it's a typo from the Inq, but since Keith mentioned it, I assumed it couldn't be more different then Tape-out, except for a couple weeks at most.
