I am curious if there isn't some "once bitten twice shy" syndrome, about being on low volume propriatery hardware and software (OS).
I understand that the support for legacy software may chain you in some way and there may be a certain path of the least resistance, while continuing to be chained. But my guess is that there must be an urge to break free. Especially when there is a clear fork in the road ahead.
